What's new.

A running log of the features we've shipped for teachers, most recent first.

September 2026

School accounting, downloadable invoices, and more languages

Schools can manage their accounts, review balances by currency, track teacher earnings and amounts owed, and issue invoices with downloadable PDFs. School and student screens have a more consistent design, with clearer member details and navigation. This release also brings German and Spanish translations, French marketing pages, and expanded Ukrainian and Spanish learner dictionaries. Students can edit teacher notes assigned to them when editing is allowed, and lesson drawing permissions have been improved.

Achievements in your profile, more automatic badges, and a badge composer for teachers

Students now find their achievements in the profile menu: XP per language and every badge earned. Clicking the language progress chip in the header shows your most recent badges with a link to the full achievements page. More badges are now awarded automatically: perfect lesson scores, your first essay and ten graded essays, live quiz wins, five review lessons, a hundred flashcards, thirty active days, five on-time session joins, three courses started, and five hundred mastered words. Teachers creating a custom award under My awards can build it from the badge art set: pick a shape, a colour, an icon or a CEFR level, and an optional label, and watch the preview update as you go. Uploading your own image still works. Badges granted during a live session now appear in front of the session panel for both teacher and student. Badges are earned only for activity as a student, never from your own sessions or courses as a teacher.

Clearer student picker when scheduling sessions

When you schedule or edit a session, the student list now shows students who learn with you and self-paced students in separate groups. Adding a self-paced student asks you to confirm first, because it moves them to learning with you and uses a live-student seat. Guest accounts from shared lesson links and disabled students no longer appear in the list and cannot be added to sessions.

Session requests and a new Teachers page

Students can now ask a teacher for a session at a time from the teacher's published availability. Turn on "Accept session requests" in your teaching profile and set your weekly availability; connected students (and anyone, if your profile is public) can then request a slot. Each request appears on your dashboard under Needs attention and in your calendar as Requested, where you approve it or decline it with a message. Approving a request from someone new adds them to your students. The student side of the Teachers page was redesigned around your teachers: lesson balance, rate, last session, what is coming up, and a day view that lists every session on a day.

Faster dashboard and instant statistics switching

The teacher dashboard now loads far fewer files on first open, so it appears sooner. The statistics cards switch between week and month instantly instead of reloading the whole dashboard, and background refreshes happen less often so an open dashboard stays responsive.

Teacher referrals and ambassador rewards

Share your referral link from Billing: new teachers receive $10 in subscription credit, and you earn $10 after their first paid bill. Credits apply automatically to future bills, with unused amounts rolling over. Approved ambassadors can track link visits, referrals and USD commissions for up to 12 months, while their invitees receive 14 days free on any paid plan.

Lesson images in session history

Lesson cover images now load correctly when students view their sessions with a teacher. The Teachers calendar is simpler, with the extra schedule button removed.

Easier note placement from the toolbox

A quick click on a text or image note now places it near the lesson content, clear of the toolbox. Dragging still places it where you release it. The student-control panel beneath the live-session timer is now hidden.

Simpler Telegram setup and teacher notification settings

Allow messages while connecting Telegram to activate notifications without typing /start. Teachers now see teacher and student notification settings together in either view, separated by a divider. Student-only accounts continue to see their own notification types.

Your teachers and remaining lessons

Your teachers’ cards now show your remaining purchased lessons. You can open a private profile when the teacher is one of your teachers: see their name, photo and your lesson balance, and message or block them from the profile.
