Correct lesson-balance adjustments safely

Teachers can now edit manual lesson-balance adjustments directly from a student's billing history. Each change is recorded as a correction instead of replacing the original entry, so the current balance stays accurate while the full audit history remains available. Payment and session-related entries continue to be managed by their own workflows.

Send homework back with comments

When a student submits their homework you can now deal with it from the lesson's homework page: mark it reviewed, or send it back with a comment explaining what needs redoing. The student sees your comment on their own homework page and can resubmit once they've fixed it, and homework you've sent back reappears in their practice list instead of disappearing the moment it was first submitted. Every round trip is kept on the record, so a second set of comments never overwrites the first. "Outstanding homework" in the student profile now means what it says: every lesson whose homework hasn't been submitted, plus anything you've sent back. It no longer counts part-finished exercises, so a lesson the student worked through but never handed in still shows up.

Student profile, reworked

The student profile has been rebuilt around a new design. The Overview tab now leads with lesson history, courses and sprints beside the lesson calendar and your notes, and course access moved out of a whole-profile edit mode into a dedicated popup where each course has its own switch and drills down to individual lessons. Sprints gained the same treatment, plus a detail view showing which modules a student has started, is working through, or has submitted. "Words to practise" now shows the teacher the same mastery bar the student sees, rather than a bare number, and clicking an unfinished homework opens that lesson straight at its homework page. Deleting a payment now correctly takes back the lessons it added, instead of leaving them on the balance.

A built-in learner's dictionary for vocabulary

Vocabulary blocks now have separate translation, definition, phonetic transcription, and pronunciation-audio fields, so a card can show a native-language gloss and a course-language definition side by side instead of picking one. Highlighting a word in a lesson looks it up in our own in-house A1/A2 learner's dictionary with a thumbs up/down to flag a definition that needs work. Dictionary lookup currently supports English only. Saved words carry the same translation, transcription, and audio, and suggestions now appear as you type in the word-add form.

Student profile refinements

The outstanding-homework count is now clickable and shows exactly which lessons are unfinished, opening each one as that student. Adding lessons to a balance takes a typed number instead of one click per lesson. The calendar highlights past lessons as well as upcoming ones, and updates as soon as you schedule something. Exporting progress to CSV now opens correctly in Excel for every language, and includes homework and attendance alongside lesson grades. Notes are edited together with the rest of the profile rather than through a separate button.

Homework fixes

Tasks sent to homework now show the homework page right away, students get an in-app notification when homework is assigned, submitted homework leaves the to-do list, and pasted task lists keep their line breaks on every platform.

Redesigned student and class profiles, plus lesson credit on account

Opening a student now brings up a full profile window instead of a side panel, with a new Progress view: overall and per-course completion, lesson and homework accuracy, attendance, the ten topics they get wrong most often, and their lesson history. Classes get the same treatment, showing class averages alongside the range from your strongest to your weakest student. You can now mark a lesson as a no-show — it still uses a lesson credit, but the payment log records why. And lesson balances can go below zero, so you can let a student keep learning on credit and settle up later.

New, lower prices for Starter and Pro

Starter is now $17.50/month ($175/year), with room for up to 75 self-paced students and 15 live students you bill directly. Pro is now $59/month ($599/year), with room for up to 350 self-paced students and 75 live students you bill directly.

Schools

Teachers can now work together under a shared school: one roster, shared courses, seat-based billing, and admin tools for managing members and student invitations — all from the People tab. School creation is available on eligible plans.

Easier payment entries

Logging a payment now uses a currency dropdown that remembers each student's last currency, and notes on ledger entries are optional.
